The NEDA Conference is a unique opportunity to develop new friendships with those who have had similar experiences. To make it easy to meet your fellow attendees, NEDA will connect you with a group of buddies so that you can exchange emails and get to know each other before the conference. To make sure you feel connected throughout the duration of the NEDA Conference, we have NEDA Buddy meetings during breakfast, lunch and evening socials.
When you register to attend, you will be asked if you would like to opt in to the program. If you choose to do so, you will be placed in a group with other attendees based on your selection under “primary reason for attending.” For example, if you state that your primary reason for attending is because you are a professional, we’ll match you up with other professionals. If you specify that you are attending because you have a friend or relative affected by an eating disorder, we will be sure to connect you with other friends/relatives. Interacting with the different Buddy groups is encouraged!
All attendees who opt in to the NEDA Buddy program will be sent a group introduction email by Friday, September 16th. When you arrive, you’ll be able to meet your NEDA Buddies and many other attendees at the NEDA Buddy Meeting on Thursday evening and at all conference events and meals. You will be given a NEDA Buddy pin to help you find your group members and other program participants throughout the weekend.
Thank you to Silver Hill Hospital for generously sponsoring the NEDA Conference Buddy Program.

“Eating disorders are very isolating, so I really appreciated getting to know new people through the buddy program. I LOVED the buddy program!”
